Which One Fits Your Park?

On the operations side these two platforms overlap more than they differ. Both run nightly and long-term stays on one grid, both read electric meters and bill them to the site, both check a rig against the site before it books, both move rates with occupancy. The differences start one step earlier and one step later. Earlier: ApexOS helps a park run the bookings it already has, while every park on RoverPass can also list on the RoverPass marketplace, where campers are already searching for somewhere to stay. Later: RoverPass sells people as well as software, so CampCite runs the marketing, CampBooks keeps the books and CampCrew hires the staff, work that no module does for you. And then there is focus. Staylist builds one platform for vacation rentals, RV parks, hotels and marinas. RoverPass only works with parks.

Key Features of Each Platform

Both platforms cover the daily running of a park, so most of a side-by-side comes down to what sits around the reservation. The lists below are what each platform says it does: ours from the RoverPass feature pages, theirs from the ApexOS platform page and the Staylist RV park page.

Overview: Staylist

Staylist started in 2015 as a campsite booking tool and has since rebuilt itself as ApexOS, a single platform for vacation rentals, RV parks, hotels and marinas. It groups 21 modules into operations, guest experience, performance and intelligence, and the grouping is the pitch: AI runs across the platform rather than sitting in one feature. Its agents work in three modes, Watch, Assist and Autopilot, and anything that contacts a guest or moves money waits for a person in every mode. The company is based in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Staylist ApexOS

ApexOS is a capable platform and the RV park pages are specific rather than generic, which is not always true of software that covers four property types. Here is where it is strong and where a campground will feel the limits.

The Good

Nightly and monthly stays sit on one grid and one ledger, monthly rates bill by the month rather than by the night, and electric meter readings go onto the site's folio. Plenty of software still treats a seasonal guest as a very long nightly booking.

The Bad

ApexOS helps you run the bookings you already have. It does not bring you one. Its channel manager connects to existing platforms rather than putting your park in front of campers who are searching. RoverPass includes a marketplace of bookable parks alongside your direct bookings.

Overview: RoverPass

Software for parks, plus the people who do the work

RoverPass runs the reservation side of a park, from nightly stays to seasonal contracts, and pairs it with a public marketplace of bookable campgrounds so the platform brings demand rather than only organising it. Around that sit the done-for-you services: marketing, bookkeeping and staffing handled by people, not modules. Everything is built for outdoor hospitality and nothing else.

What You Only Get From RoverPass

Most of a reservation platform is table stakes by now. These three are the parts a competitor cannot answer by shipping another module.

Where next season's bookings come from

A property management system organises the bookings a park already has. The RoverPass marketplace puts your park in front of campers who are searching right now, alongside your direct bookings and your OTA channels. It is included with the platform rather than sold as a lead product, and a premium listing moves you up the page when you want the extra reach.

RoverPass platform, make the switch

The Choice Is Yours

If you run a park alongside vacation rentals, a hotel or a marina, one platform across all of it is worth a lot, and ApexOS is built for exactly that. If the park is the business, the questions change. Where do next season's bookings come from. Who does the marketing and the books when the office is two people in November. What happens on the weekend the system has a problem. RoverPass answers those with a marketplace, with CampCite, CampBooks and CampCrew, and with support on every tier, on top of the reservation software itself.
